Dates for Upcoming 2007-2008 Youth Sports Seasons

ITTY BITTY SPORTS

The adventure begins with the introduction of our new “Itty Bitty Sports” program. This program is designed to give your preschool aged child (3-5 yrs) an introduction to sports skills without the pressure of competition. The class will focus on the basic sports skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, and batting in a child-friendly environment. The emphasis will be on fun, learning and gaining the confidence for team play when the child feels ready. All equipment is specially designed for such programs and is made of soft, forgiving materials. Parents are encouraged, but not required, to participate along with their child. The group will meet either Wednesdays 10:00 to 10:45 AM or Thursdays 4:00-4:45 PM at the YMCA. Space is limited to 8 children per session. Fees are $20.00 for Y-members and $35.00 for non-members. Spring Soccer

The YMCA Spring soccer season is set to “kick off” April 14th and run through June 7th! Registrations are going on now through April 4th at the YMCA front desk. Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis so don’t delay, get registered today!!

Participants will be placed by age in one of 5 divisions: Itty Bitty (3-4), PreK (4-5), Kindergarten (5-6), 1st/2nd grade (6-8), and 3rd/4th grade (8-10). Co-ed teams will be formed at all age levels. Small sided games are utilized to allow a greater number of touches on the ball and increase player involvement. Coaches will act as referees in all divisions except 3rd/4th grade. Games will begin on Saturday April 26th and will run every Saturday for 6 weeks except over Memorial Day Weekend. Weekday games may also be scheduled. Fees are $35.00 Y-members and $55.00 non-members. In YMCA Youth Sports, we strive to provide a structured environment emphasizing fun and learning, while teaching sportsmanship and teamwork.
